3 confirmed dead as workers drink poisonous substance at Mudavadi's site

Three people have been confirmed to have died on Friday at a construction site while working for opposition leader Musalia Mudavadi.

Reliable sources had earlier intimated to Hivisasa that at least 7 workers had consumed a poisonous herb on Thursday leading to the tragic incident.
Confirming the incident, Mudavadi, who is currently out of the country, released a statement stating that seven workers on the construction project in which he has partnered drunk an unknown concoction.
"Sadly 3 lost their lives but 4 have been discharged. The matter has been reported to the police for further investigation," tweeted Musalia 
The Amani National Congress party leader promised to assist the affected parties.

According to a family member who lost his brother, unlike the report by Mudavadi, 3 died on the spot while 2 died while being rushed to the hospital.
He also told Hivisasa on phone that one other worker died on arrival at the hospital and an additional one was currently at ICU.
He reports that the bodies of the victims have been kept at a facility yet to be announced to the media
"Police have cordoned off the place to perform investigations," he told Hivisasa.
